Red Deer Minor Football (RDMF) is home to the Central Alberta FIRE (Female Football) SPRING Football program!
This Red Deer based team is open to ALL Female players from Central Alberta, including all areas from Ponoka to Olds and Stettler to Rocky Mountain House. For the 2024 Season, we will be playing teams from the South Division including Calgary, Airdrie, Okotoks and Lethbridge. There will be travel involved for this regular playing season. Travel will be at the players expense, but carpooling, shared rides is encouraged.
Girls aged 14 to 18 (up to and including Grade 12 players), so under the age of 19 BEFORE December 31, 2024, are welcome to sign-up to play FULL CONTACT 6 vs 6 Football.
This season will feature 2 teams, a Junior Team, and a Senior Team.
Senior Teams will be athletes in Grades 10-12. This means open to birth years of 2006, 2007, 2008.
Junior Teams will be athletes in Grades 7-9. This means open to birth years 2009, 2010, 2011.
Girls aged 11-13, before December 31, 2024, are eligible to PRACTICE ONLY (**some exceptions for gameplay may apply - with coaching/league approval) with the team, to learn for this season.

The season cost for each player will be $350 (plus protective girdle (if you don’t already have one)). Baseline concussion testing is NOT provided by RDMF.
ALL Football Equipment will be provided, with the exception of a protective girdle and cleats. A protective girdle will be added to your registration, for a fee of $40. IF your player has a protective girdle from another season that fits, you can enter the Promo code:HAVEGIRDLE
Concussion testing is optional, and athletes can contact an independent testing company directly if they haven’t had a recent baseline assessment, or if they would like to complete one for their athlete. RDMF does have some information we can share with you for this.
We do have SOME cleats available in our donation bin if you need them. They will be out during Equipment Pickup. Team warm-up gear will be available for purchase (at a bit later date, watch your emails), we are also working on getting a sponsor to help with some of this cost. Stay tuned for that info.

Red Deer will host a Province-Wide Jamboree featuring teams from across the province on April 06, 2024.

Team AB U18 Final Camp June 15/16
Coaches/Managers and Team Sponsors are Needed
Coaching certification is REQUIRED to be on the field with the players.
Volunteers are needed to help organize the Spring Provincial Jamboree.

Bond Cheques for Equipment ($500), Volunteer Bond ($200) and Fundraising ($200) will be required
EACH Players family will be required to volunteer during the season. Managers will assign duties to each player to have completed. IF the duties are Not completed, the Volunteer Bond ($200) will be cashed.
Gamedays @ Red Deer will require LOTS of help. IF you can’t complete your assigned duties, it will be up to YOU to find a replacement or swap with another family.
List of volunteer spots will be made up and distributed as soon as we can get them out, pending schedules being set etc.
Any ideas to help out with funds to run this league are GREATLY appreciated. FEES alone will NOT offset the costs for the season.
Jan 15-April (TBD) Practices will be INDOORS on Tuesday/Thursdays from 6:30pm-8:00pm @ Vista Grande School (Grandview) Red Deer (4145 46 St, Red Deer, AB T4N 3C5)
This MAY included Team events (may be at different locations, but notice will be given) along with practices, conditioning, and other events.
NO EQUIPMENT will be required for the first work in the gym. We will arrange Equipment pick-up dates as we move along.
Indoor locations (School gyms) are CLEAN Indoor shoes ONLY and WATER ONLY! Dress in layers, it gets HOT in the gyms!
