General League Details:
Hey there, sports fans! Join us for Central Alberta's very first and only Flag Football League! Our co-ed Spring League is all about having a blast while developing those important skills like footwork, hand-eye coordination, catching, and throwing. Whether you’re a newbie or looking to sharpen your technique, we’ve got you covered!
From cool moves to the lingo, get ready to learn the ins and outs of football, all while making new friends and working together as a team in a supportive atmosphere. Whether you're gearing up for tackle football in the Fall or just want to keep it non-contact and still compete, our divisions are designed to boost your skills, promote safe plays and lay down a solid foundation in football.
Mark your calendars because the flag football season kicks off late-April until the end of June. Registration opens in mid-February and runs until the end of March or until our teams fill up—so don’t miss out! You’ll enjoy eight weeks of exciting play, with a break for the Victoria Day/May long weekend. For our U8, U10, and U12 divisions, you’ll get a mix of practice and game time split into 45-60 minute practices plus 30-45 minutes of solid game time. While our U16 players will dive straight into the action with refereed games. Just a heads up—prior football experience is needed for the U16 division.
Throughout the season, we’ll be firing up the BBQ for our players, coaches, and volunteers. We encourage family and friends to join us as we celebrate our awesome Flag Football community! Our games and practices take place on Sundays at our home base, Rosedale Field, where we’ve got both upper and lower fields ready for action. We’re proud to offer outdoor, portable washroom facilities and well-maintained fields. There is off-street parking, picnic tables, garbage receptacles, and two play structures on site. Plus, food trucks and vendors are always welcome to join the fun! So grab a chair and a coffee, and come join the Sunday Football Fun!
Can’t get enough football? We are constantly seeking dedicated coaches and enthusiastic volunteers to become part of our incredible team! Volunteers truly are the backbone of Red Deer Minor Football; without their support, our organization wouldn't have reached its ongoing success or become a vital part of youth sports in Red Deer—a distinction we cherish! If you're interested in getting involved, please contact Chad @ rdmfpeewee@gmail.com. We look forward to welcoming you on the field!
Disclaimer: The duration of the season, along with dates and times, may vary. The final schedules will be established and confirmed once registration concludes. Division groups, league sizes, and teams will depend on the number of registrations received. Game and practice ratios will be determined at the discretion of the head coach.
